In 2018, I led a rebrand of the Sydney Fringe Comedy Festival for Century Entertainment, across branding, illustration, print, digital and social design.
As a festival built to platform emerging comedians and let established acts trial new material, the new identity needed to authentically reflect that work-in-progress spirit, rougher and more experimental than a polished, finished-product brand. To represent this, I created a playful, comic book-style illustration system of microphones, burgers, bicycles and beer, capturing the festival's laid-back, anything-goes energy, alongside local landmarks like the Factory Theatre and Marrickville itself. The rebrand also aimed to spotlight the festival experience: good food, good drinks, and a good night out.
Deliverables included a dynamic logo designed to be updated annually, a full style guide and key artwork, printed posters and program guide, large-format outdoor signage, a website refresh, and a suite of social media templates.
